Are my files really private? Do you store them?
Yes, completely. ILove-PDF processes all files entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your documents never leave your device, are never sent to our servers, and are never stored
anywhere. This is our fundamental privacy promise — and it's technically enforced, not just a policy claim. You can verify this by checking your network traffic while using our tools.
Does ILove-PDF collect any personal data?
We collect only anonymous usage analytics (page views, tool usage counts) to understand how to improve the site. We do not collect file contents, file names, or any personally identifiable information. No account is required, and no cookies beyond essential
site functionality are used.
Is it safe to use ILove-PDF for confidential documents?
Yes. Because all processing is client-side (in your browser), confidential documents — legal contracts, financial records, medical files — are processed without ever being transmitted to any external server. This makes ILove-PDF one of the safest options
available for sensitive document processing.

Is there a file size limit?
Most tools support files up to 100MB. Some tools (Word to PDF, Excel to PDF) have a 50MB limit due to browser memory constraints. For very large files, we recommend splitting them first using our Split
PDF tool.

What file formats are supported?

Can I convert password-protected PDFs?
Yes, if you have the password. Our tools will prompt you to enter the password when a protected PDF is detected. You can also use our Unlock PDF tool to remove password protection (you
must own the document and know the password).

How accurate is the PDF to Word conversion?
Our conversion is highly accurate for text-based PDFs, preserving fonts, layout, and formatting. For scanned PDFs (images), we recommend using our OCR tool first to make the content machine-readable before converting. Complex layouts with multiple columns
may require minor adjustments after conversion.
Does the AI Summarizer work on any PDF?
The AI Summarizer works best on text-based PDFs. For scanned PDFs, run the OCR tool first to extract the text, then use the Summarizer. It supports documents in multiple languages and works on academic papers, reports, contracts, articles, and more.
Are electronic signatures legally valid?
Electronic signatures are legally recognised in most countries under laws such as eIDAS (EU), ESIGN Act (US), and similar legislation worldwide. For high-stakes documents (property, financial instruments), we recommend consulting a legal professional
about specific signature requirements in your jurisdiction.

Why does processing happen in my browser? Is that reliable?
Modern browsers are extremely capable. Using technologies like WebAssembly, PDF.js, and jsPDF, we can perform sophisticated document processing without needing a server. This approach is faster (no upload/download latency), more private, and works offline
after the initial page load.
Which browsers are supported?
We support all modern browsers:

Why is processing slow for large PDFs?
Large PDFs (50MB+) with many pages require significant browser memory and CPU time for client-side processing. Processing speed depends on your device hardware. For best performance: use a desktop/laptop, close other browser tabs, and use Chrome or Edge
which have the best JavaScript engines.
